  1. I have a vcd mpeg generated by TMPGEnc. I want to add a logo to it. I use VirtualDub with the logo filter. I don't want to save the result to avi (file is too big) and convert to mpeg again. How do I frameserve from VirtualDub to TMPGEnc directly?
I have everything setup but when I select TMPGEnc/Video source/browse all file types and select the vdr file, TMPGEnc says "File ... cannot opened or unsupported"
    Thanks for your help

when you save frameserve type of file you must name it video.vdr.avi and then tmpeg will think its an avi file

Also just to point out...VDUB v1.4.10 has a bug when trying to frameserve so use v1.4.9 to do you're frameserving or atleast install the v1.4.9 handler and then use v1.4.10

    hope this helps...

The setback with this, is that no matter what, you will lose in video quality. In effect, you're decoding the MPEG to video, add the logo and then reencode.
Each encoding pass makes the end result a little bit worse from the original (as MPEg is a lossy encoding method) - just like a Xerox makes each copy a little worse than the original.

Just a side note. I am using Vdub 1-10 and frame serve to tempgenc 2.58+ and I have not had any problems to date. Can you enlighten us to what the bug might be so that others can be aware and not fall into that pit.

    Thanks,
