Hello ppl, this is my first post so i am hoping you can help.
    the problem is ...

    i downloaded film, avi file.

played in windows media player like normal

discovered that the audio did not match with the movie, the audio i was a about 5 seconds 2 fast

took me ages to download and no other versions are available

i used VirtualDub/ open video file, and says ...

"couldent locate decompresser for format 'DX50' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatable codec to decompress video, Direct Show codes as used by windows media player, are not suitable"

i dont know if this has any relivance to the solution

i have made vcd's before, and know how to encode, so i have some knowlege

hope you guys can help , it would mean a lot

  2. Hi

I had the same problem with the audio,I used goldwave to solve the problem. If you open up the program,on the tool bar go to open and import the movie, this will then deflash the audio into the prog.after this go to edit, then down the list to insert silence, click on this a box will open enter the silence you require. This will insert the silence and move the audio on. After this save the file to wav. this will convert and you are now ready to encode. It may take a few times to get the audio right.

    hope this will help
