  1. Anybody using 800MB or 900MB CDR disks? Can't seem to find them, however I hear about users that have been using these in Europe recently. Any ideas where I can obtain these disks.....Someone also came up with a question.....Why are there no 2 sided CDRs........the potential for getting 1.4 GB. on one disk is very tempting....what do you think?
    Now...where is my sonic screwdriver?

  2. Thanks for the info ZeroKool....will try these links. By the way, have you tried any of these disks to burn movies. Seems like you can get very good compression rates and only use one disk. Maybe this is the way to go for us "poor-folk" that can't afford to go to a DVD Writer.

  3. BTW, 1.3 Gb CD-Rs are not standard and really shouldn't even be called a CD-R.

You cannot read NOR write to these discs except in the specific drive they were designed for.

Here is a list of CD Writers and wether or not they can write to 900mb and 990mb disks http://www.feurio.com/English/Writerdb/list_ide.shtml . Also, be advised that I have read somewhere that many CD/DVD players have problems playing these extended capacity disks (in particular when they get to the end of the disk.)
