Have a .m2v file and a .ac3 file... How to put them to dvd?

I was following a guide when I hit a wall. It got to where you import the m2v file and the ac3 file into DVD Maestro. However when I try to import the video it says

Media Not Supported Error (0xc10b0002)

Every time I load up Maestro it gives me this error which i just close and ignore:

Real Time Preview functionality will not be available because no decoders have been detected. (0x410a0011)

Is it just messed up? It imports the audio file fine just not the movie. Is there any other program to pull the m2v file and the ac3 file together in order to make a VIDEO_TS folder so i can make my movie?

I am not familiar with DVD Maestro but you can mux the m2v and ac3 with TMPGEnc tools

that is what i'm doing right now....

it's almost through... but how do i put the outputted mpeg to dvd?

ok the muxing gave me errors and the output mpeg has no audio =(

i've been tryin to get this thing to work for 2 days straight. can anyone offer me some help? i've got the video file compressed to where it will fit, the audio is beside it, but i hit another wall

Have you tried SpruceUp with your files? Also, make sure they are named the same (ex: movie.m2v and movie.ac3). Good luck.

no i haven't tried spruce up? what is it and where can i find it?

and no they weren't named the same. i named them the same and put the m2v file in maestro again with the same error. do they need to be named the same for tmpg to work?

i need to go to work now but i'll be back around 6pm central time. please someone give me an answer

SpruceUp is an easy to use DVD authoring program. Very good. Not made anymore, but the trial version is free to download. Here's the link from the Tools section:

Also, I don't think that you should use TMPGEnc to put the files together. Some people say that that causes problems.

I use Besweet to transcode the wave file to AC3 and TMPGEnc to mux the mv2 and ac3 files. I use Ulead's DVD WorkShop to author and burn. It runs flawlessly.

The media not supported error might be due to the video not being DVD-spec. Try encoding some other material (or demuxing some good video) and test importing that.

The realtime decoder requires a hardware decoder card or the cinemaster software included on the maestro cd if you bought it.

Spruce software preferrs demuxed a/v, but ulead prefers one big muxed mpeg. While maestro has a rep for being much easier to use than scenarist, it still requires some effort to learn. If you're new you may want to try some ulead software or spruceup.

Ulead's DVDWS V1.3 supports elemental stream input. Unfortunately, not ac3.

Is this a 29FPS NTSC movie? (American) Which has been re-encoded?

If so you have to use pulldown.exe from www.doom9.net - which will enable 3:2 pulldown. This should solve the problem.

And with The codec error you have to get cinemaster. You can find this on Kazaa or simular. Also if you have DVDit PRO - its on the disk.

maybe my settings were messed up in tmpgenc?

i had it set to already do 3:2 pulldown

encode mode: 3:2 pulldown during playback

it turned my frame rate from 23.976fps to 23.976fps (internally 29.97fps)

i tried that pulldown program but it keeps telling me file is not a mpeg video stream

Are you sure that the m2v file that you are creating with TMPGEnc is video only? Try setting the output stream type to "Video Only" if you aren't already.

Hey Lamont Cranston, I do exactly what you do with TMPEGenc and DVDWS, but I can't get it to recognize anything with AC3, muxed or as elementals. Reading the documentaion, it doesn't seem that it is supposed to work with AC3. It works fine with pretty much any plain stereo I feed it. Anything you can think of that I might be doing wrong?

I wouldn't mind trying Spruce-Up if someone could e-mail me and let me know how to get a working copy.
