  1. Ok first i hope im in the right forum to ask this cause i'm
a newbie to this cd burning.
I have some AVI movies i want to add to a cd to play on my dvd player, now i know i have to convert them to a VCD Mpeg file first
but my dvd player (according to the specs )does not play VCD but will play cd rw
So does that mean it will play VCD if i burn it to a cdrw disc or does it mean i have to covert it to some other type of file
I hope ive made sense explaining this
    Thanxs

    Hi Kosh

As you didn't state which standalone DVD Player you have it is rather difficult to advise you here. However the DVD Player compatibility guide is not 100% accurate. If it states that VCD's cannot be played (I presume the same goes for CD-R) but CD-RW's can it might be referring to, as you speculated, some other format. If however SVCD, XVCD, XSVCD are not listed either, I think it means it will play some form of audio CD-RW. Best thing to do is try, as you won't lose your CD-RW.
