Hauppauge WINTV PVR Mpeg Encoding Problem.

Hi,

I hope somebody can help here, everytime i record TV using my WINTV Card the file of the video just recorded is unrecogniseable in Ulead Movie Factory.

When i look up the file of what i recorded the file type is named as "System File" and not an "Mpeg" file as i would expect.

No matter if i record in MPEG1 or MPEG2 the file still ends up the same.

Has anybody faced this problem before. I guess the encoding is wrong or something, but i just want to transfer what i record to VCD.

I hope someone can help.

I think you have to convert the mpg using nero or the other tool that hauppage gives you.

AHHHHH!, I wasted 2 years of my life with that card. THE QUALITY IS HORRIBLE! The worst real time encoder out there. I switched to the Dazzle Digital Video Creator II, A real time hardware mpeg-2 encoder, the files look commercially created on a dvd player, absolutly great!
