  1. Without any apparent reason, when I want to convert a file with my TMPGEnc (no matter what version!), the darn thing only displays my files with that scornful windows-logo. This means that, if I follow through with the conversion, the file will be without sound. This has happened to me in the past, but then I only had to uninstall the prg and re-install it-end of problem! This time however, this strategy doesn't work! I even uninstalled every prg I've installed since this problem occured, thinking it may have been some conflict between prgs, but no...The only thing I can think of now, is formating my HD and I don't wanna do that!
Also my Direct Connect-prg is acting up. It destroys my downloads if it's in work for more than 6-8hrs. This I solve by un- and re-installing it, but it's totally f**ked up that I have to do this!
Could there be some file somewhere on my HD that is interfering with these prgs??

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    jedor,
It has been my experience that when a known file type shows up with the generic windows icon it means it's no longer associated with a certain application. Usually this is caused by another program you installed that stole the file association and somewhere along the line you probably deleted it. Without knowing your OS it's difficult to explain how to reassociate the files since it varies from one version of Windows to another. In XP it's pretty simple since all you have to do is right click on the file, select "open with" and choose what application you want to associate with that file type and check off "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file". As to the sound issue it looks to me your missing some codecs. You might want to download and install the Nimo Codec Pack (use build 7 not 8 ) and do a full install to replace anything thats missing. One thing to pay attention to Do not choose the G400 Filter if you do not have G400 graphic cards or you'll be looking at inverted video. As to some of your other problems thats out of the scope of this forum.
    Warning! I'm baaaaaaaaack
