    Hello all

I am new to this forum. Looks like there is masses of information here. I am looking to experiment with TEMPenc and keep seeing references to it as freeware. However all the links I try are to the home site where it is for sale.

Is there/was there an earlier free version that I can try? I have tried the demo version once but my trial period ran out before I found enough info on the web to be able to make sense of the multitude of options and settings.

    Thanks

Even though your trial period expired, it is still quite useful. You cannot encode MPEG-2 any more, but as far as I know, the rest of the functions still work.

    Thanks

I understand now! Yes MPEG 1 does still work. I was hoping to compare the quality with both Studio 7 and Neros own MPEG 2 decoder

Does anyone have any comments/advice on which is best? Having paid for Studio and Neros MPEG2 add on I don't really want to pay $48 for another decoder unless it really is far superior for SVCD creation.

I wish these software developers would give a longer trial period. The number of times I have installed a program and then forgotten / not had time to play with it properly - still next time I reformat my hard drive I may try the evaluation again!
