Is there a way to save the settings I set up so I do not have to reset it up each time?

Look around, there are two places, one for capturing and one for processing or editing, each is accessed from that same screen, ie, one for editing is the first screen under file called save or load processing settings and the other is in the capture avi screen under capture called preferences, click each one there to save your settings as the default. They stuck for me.
