Hello
Have a DV camcorder and FireWire card. What I want to achieve is to create VCD and SVCDs, which I currently do with TMPGEnc. I would like to cut out the lengthy conversion that is associated with TMPGEnc and replace it with some hardware.
Please excuse the multiple questions: Is there a hardware solution as an answer? Can any of these capture cards read from files rather than I/O? Do any read direct from FireWire? If yes to the above; is it possible to get MPEG1/2 results that are good for VCD and SVCD. Is the quality just as good as TMPGEnc? And, lastly, what is the name of this wonderous bit of hardware?
Many thanks in advance.
DJ
