I've observed dark bars moving from the top to the bottom
of the TV screen when playing VCD's thru my standalone
player. No such problems while playing on PC. The result
is a slight flicker on the TV screen which is more
more pronounced in PAL and almost indiscernible in NTSC.
This may be due to my cheap Chinese make player, but
the problem is almost non existent while playing
commercially availabe VCD's.
I had read somewhere that interlacing was introduced
to handle a similar kind of problem (the strobing effect).
I'd like to know if it is wise to add interlacing to
the output video, and if it would solve the above mentioned
anomaly. Also, how do I go about it in Tmpeg and CCE?
Thanks for the patient reading.
Keith.
