  1. I've tried to overburn about 750mb SVCD (two seperate files) on a 700mb.
It burns okay with Nero. But When I play it and it gets to the end of the cd, the player (both standalone and computer) freezes is this the media or the burning software should I burn at a lower speed ?

Over burn can be a function of the hardware (capable of doing it or not), or the software (allowing it or not), or the media (enough room or not). Try burning at a slower speed, and stay away from Imation brand disks. I had errors on most of the ones I tried with that brand, and stopped using them. I recommend Digital Research brand disks, about 35 cents each in bulk. It may come down to... you get what you pay for. CD's for free, may not be worth the effort. Just my opion.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

A 700MB cd really holds 800MB when burned as a SVCD. It's only data that is limited to 700MB due to recording in a different mode. Normally overburning would be burning 730MB of data in one of the data modes (so maybe 830 MB on a (s)vcd on a 80min cdr). If your computer (even the drive that wrote the disc) can't read it, it really could be the media. Crappy media might not have the dye properly manufactured on the outer portions of the disc.

  4. Just as a reference point I bought the 100 pack deal of 80min, from shop4tech. Also I read on another forum something about multiplexing to mpeg2svcdvbr. I did that and the files according to nero are now less the 700 mb although multiplexng just took off one mb from each file. What is the deal with multiplexing mpeg files ?
