Here's the situation. I am trying to make a back up of my Sopranos 3rd season. The discs are dvd-9 and dual layered. Each disc contains 3 or 4 episodes in order, as one long movie. What I mean by this is that if i was to strip the movie using DVD Decrypter, the next episode would start right when the first one finished. There would be no way of just watching one episode at a time or breaking the episodes down to 2 a dvd-r so they would fit.
Because of this I have choosen to use the IFO setting in DVD Decrytper and stripped out each episode individually. I now have two folders on my hard drive named, Ep1 and Ep2. Each folder contains the following files VTS_01_0.IFO. VTS_01_1.VOB and VTS_01_2.VOB.
Is it possible to create a DVD using the files from the Ep1 and Ep2 without having to rencode with a program like TMPG. I have tried to rename the files for Ep2 as VTS_02_0.IFO, VTS_02_1.VOB and VTS_02_1.VOB. Next I have placed the files in one folder. The folder now contains
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_1.VOB
VTS_02_1.VOB
Is is possible to create a dvd so I can select which episode I want to watch or do i have to renecode each episode to a mpeg2 and then import them to a dvd authoring program like DVDit? Thanks
