I'm using a Pinnacle PCTV rave with Windows 2000 Pro as my OS.

Using PICVIDEO MPEG CODEC and Composite Video in Vdub, with all the settings set for PAL, to capture to AVI, so that i can convert to DVD using DVD2SVCD.

    Here's a PIC....

No matter what driver's i use be it, the latest pinnacle, or the BTwincap all my capture's turn out like this.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the problem is or how to correct it.

This appears to be the interlacing of the source, which is expected. If you are planning on viewing your caps on a computer you will want to de-interlace when you re-encode them. If you are planning on viewing them on a standard TV, you can leave it alone (it won't look like this on a TV).

you could also try using a field swap filter - I have a similar problem with my caps

Hey guys thx for replying, I found out what the problem was, it was one of the settings, the "SWAP DECOMPRESS FIELDS" in the PICVIDEO codec that was causing the problem.

As soon as i unchecked, i tried test capture and hey presto

    Here's another PIC....

As you can see, hell of a lot better still not perfect though, but that could be just this Capture Card Of mine, as well as capturing from a analogue source.

Might have to get a better card and DIGITAL tv installed as well.

looks like you de-interlace is blending instead of interpolating - interpolation can most times avoid the blurred look of the guys arms
