  1. I have tried to encode "Serendipity" from DIVX to SVCD, the source file was 23 fps, but when I burn in NERO it does not want a 23 fps mpeg file only 29 or 25 fps.

I know you can encode the 23 FPS DIVX to a 25 FPS SVCD, but then I can't add permanent subtitles.
    Can anyone help me?

    tlund!

23.976fps is ideal for ntsc SVCDS. If you encode in TMPGenc make sure you enable the 3:2 pulldown while playback option on the video tab to add the 3:2 pulldown flags. If you forgot or if you encoded in CCE then you can use pulldown.exe to add the flags to your mpg.

If Nero still doesnt accept it as compliant then just turn off standard compliance and burn anyways. Nero has never been a good judge of compliancy because 23.976fps with the 3:2 pulldown flag is perfectly compliant.

  3. Im am pretty sure that TMP defaults were 3:2 pulldown when playback, and and tried just to burn anyway, but when I saw it on my DVD player, it was not good, with all kinds of green squares all over the sceen!

    Im trying again now!
But I think said that it needed either a 25 or 29 fps MPEG?
    Can this be correct?

  4. adam's right about the 23.976 fps + 3:2 pulldown as standard for nero, it has never failed me...

but even if you turn off standard compliance, it should work...

however, i'm guessing it could be your dvd player... check the dvd player compatibility list on this website to see which formats your dvd player can handle...perhaps it can't handle non-compliant stuff..or maybe even SVCDs

also, burn at 4x max to be safe

  5. I have tried again now.
I have the latest version of TMP, and when I press the video buttons almost all of the options are locked (grey)! But the 3:2 pulldown when playback is default. But before I tried just to unlock where it said 3:2 pulldown when playback, and nothing more and did the rest as I am used to. I tried to put into NERO and it DIDN'T said any ERRORS or unsupported SVCD as it is used to! I burned it with a good result! Now im am encoding the whole movie! Hope it works!
But how can it be that I just had to unlock that single option and nothing else! It strange, but Im glad that it works!
