  1. Hi,

I am having a hard time with TMPGenc - it will open audio from MPEG-1 files just fine, but it will not open audio from an MPEG-2 stream. I don't have one of the past-30 day trial versions, so it should work, right?

The video portion of the MPEG-2 will open, but the audio remains blank. When I try to open audio, I get an error saying that the file is unable to load or is unsupported. This happens with any MPEG-2 whether it was captured or converted from DVD.

    Please help!

    System Config:

    Win 2000
    P4 2.26 GB
    256 MB DDR RAM
    Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 250

The audio is mpeg1 layer2 not mpeg2(wintv pvr), same as a vcd so it should not matter. Try increase the direcshow prirortiy, www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc#problems

If you aren't doing any cutting or changing the audio bitrate/hz while encoding in tmpgenc you dont have to rencode the audio, you can multiplex it to the video after you encoded.

  3. Hi,

I tried increasing DirectShow Priority, with no effect. Is it possible that I have a setting or codec installed that is causing a conflict? I want to cut some 2.5 GB captures into SVCD-sized chunks, and I thought TMPGenc would be the way to go. I tried to use NanoPEG, which came with my WinTV-PVR 250, but it kept locking up. Thanks for any ideas you might have.....
