Should I assume this to be a hacked firmware update? Pioneer has no info on it that i can find.

It's not hacked. It comes from Pioneer Europe.

Hrm... ok now I also wonder want the difference is... personally I've no no issues so far with the last firmware update, but I might install this anyway to see.

I am also interested in installing the 2x unlocking and RPC1 firmware for my DVR-A04. The problem is, I already have the original 1.33 so the updater will not let me install the 1.33 hacked firmware (saying: It's already up to date ... or something). Does someone of you know of some command line switch for the update utility?

I had this problem Because i had the proper pioneer 1.32 and wanted the RCE1 Firmware 1.31 i had to wait for them to bring out the RCE1 1.33

Well, I don't really wanna downgrade. But how I understand it there is no way to install the same firmware version two times? I mean, it seems pretty stupid to solder around in your DVD-burner just because the DVDUPG.EXE denies installation of 1.33 RCE1?

Theres no other downgrade for your firmware other then an unoffical 1.34 hach, as for downgrading it is not in Pioneers best interest to allow that now, especially in reguards to which media companies the updates allow for use. Check out the firmware forum for all official and unofficial update. As for the 1.33 update it allow ao4 to burn on Ritec media and Cmd, which 1.32 does not allow.
