hmmm im still having this problem , tried other dvd's now, does tmpeg not support .d2v files anymore.???? ...........

You are saying that it will not accept the d2v file as the video in right.
Did you recently change versions or reinstall TMPG ?
If not you may want to go into TMPG environmental settings (under options) goto the goto the VFAPI tab and right click on DVD2avi project reader and click on higher priority a couple times...so its at least a 0 or a 1.
For the AVI part TMPG will do avi also....set up like normal....but instaed of clicking start....goto file>output to file>then avi. I think DVD2AVI also has the option to say AVI. -
yeah i just treid chaning the dvd2avi option in env. settings in tmpeg, but it says it wont read it....im trying dvdx now a differnt program, but i found taht my cpu got stuck when i tried .................very weird my cpu is like ******* up or something...................

Yo first of all your missing the right components you dont encode using *d2v's they suck as frame serving the best way to do it is with VFAPICodec but you'll also need the plugins for TMPGEnc 2.58 get them @ www.tmpgenc.net get the TMPGEnc_Free_VFAPI.zip and download the VFAPICodec then get back to me on instructions.

hi ihav downloaded and installed both things u told me to to do, .......now all i need to know is how to use them....

Unzip the file into the dir where tmpgenc is, then run the install bat file this will install it.
May the force be with you. -
