  1. I have an .avi that is more or less like most
    downloaded 695 MB. However, this movie
    lasts 1 hour 48 min. (longer than the ones
    found thus far). Now when I extract the Audio
    with VirtualDub I get a huge audio file 1.1 gig.
    Isn't this rather strange as it generally is the
    almost same size as .avi file?
    Can I reduce this audio file because I am sure
    my final converted VCD will now not fit
    on 1 CD.

    load the wav file you created into tmpgenc along with the video file .. for a vcd the wav is compressed to a mpeg1 audio file layer 2 and will be very small.

    you didnt really need to extract the wav anyway ..

    44,1k stereo = 10mb/minute uncompressed

    1:48 = 108 minutes * 10 = ~1.08gb

    So yes, that is correct.
