tar is just a compression format .. in what format are the EXTRACTED files in ? thatis what is importaint to know to determin what you will need to do with them ..

also make sure you can play the extracted tracks - because if you cant you will need to prob install a codec also ..

    Shot in the dark here.

Are you sure its a vcd?

Based on the number of tracks its sounds like someone compressed an audio CD to a TAR format.

What is the extension on the extracted files?

Now that the tracks are uncompressed see if you can play them.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

    PS

If you do a Google search on "TAR Compression" you will find sufficient material that explains its origins and use.
