MainConcept's Mpeg Encoder V.12 is available and all the bugs I have encountered have been corrected.IMHO the MainConcept folks should be congratulated for their quick response.

Need Help please
I am having a problem with mainconcept the finished video is upside down and the colors are not showing properly either . Any clues would be helpfull.. Thanks -
HI Phillip,
FWIW I created a 5G NTSC 720 x 480 DV type 2 file and MainConcept V1.2 accepted the file with no problem. -
Spent a lot of time and 3 upgrades on the same company's MainActor Video Editor program. From this experience, I have absolutely NO confidence that this company is either willing or able to produce, not necessarily a bug-free program, but one that is functional at all.
This product sounds very similar, with great promise and some excellent features, but it just doesn't work very well.
Somewhere I read that the guy who wrote BBmpeg was working with MainConcept, that may help if he's still there. -
There is a lot more at stake here than MainConcept. Ulead, Dazzle, and Sonic, to name a few, have all signed up to use the MainConcept Mpeg encoder SDK version. MainConcept has cleaned up all the bugs that I am aware of, expect for one minor one, in very short order (<2 weeks).

I tried to encode a captured avi from TV broadcast, and the encoded video plays way faster than normal speed, as if you are seeing the fast forward version, but the audio plays at the normal speed. Don't know what's wrong with that.
The CCE2.5 encoded version plays just fine. -
jerrymiller, you need to supply more detail. The type, resolution etc of your avi file and the encoder settings. I have encoded many NTSC 720 x 480 avi files both type 1 and 2 with no problem.

...and I have encoded several PAL type-1 and type-2 DV files without any problems. They did a real nice job getting this version out so soon, I really like the added 'shut down when finished' and 'split by size' features.
Only thing I could wish for is some sort of noise reduction or smoothing but I can get that using avisynth if I need it... -
Lamont Cranston,
I used VDub1.10/Huffyuv to capture avi at 480X480 (NTSC) and then I tried to use MainConcept to encode it into SVCD by using its SVCD defaulting setting. -

Lamont,
yes I've tried line filtering and it helps remove some noise but for those really noisy caps I need something more powerful. Besides, it can be fun experimenting with Avisynth as well....
I also have the Panasonic mpeg1/2 encoder and it's noise reduction is absolutley brilliant, slow as hell though...
