  4. Keep your system as clean as possible - codec-wise

Many may dissagree but things will go all right if you have just one version of a codec installed
IE don't install 4 diffrent AC3 filters and 3 diffrent MPG2 filters and such
as for divx me thinks the good old div3 and the latest div5 should bee all you need.

most likely your audio is recorded with a variable bitrate. you will need to convert this to a constant bitrate audio source. one way to do this is to use virtual dub

  7. get rid of all your codecs, then reinstall just what you need.

now, i cant watch .avi files at all on my pc. even divx player crashes. I cant use WMPlayer for .mpgs, I have to use PowerDVD and they often lock my machine.

    Too many screwed up codecs.

however, as long as the audio is ALWAYS constantly out of sync, it's easy to repair. Look in the guide section. It's not a big job.

  8. Well it seems to be in sync some times and not at others. Weird? I didn't have any codecs install then I installed one and it was still like that.

  9. Try uninstalling the nimo codec pack...and only install the codecs u need (eg Divx 5.0). Keep in mind it might not be the codec, there are a lot of screwed up divx files around..

Also look if there aren't any programs like spyware on your pc...if so..remove them (eg. Ad-awere)

If all fails....and U really want it to get it right at all price.....format your harddrive and reinstall windows... it sometimes helps...
