I am having a hard time getting an acceptbale VXCD on my Sony DVP NS400D. Most people on the forum agree that this player should play up to 3000bps (or more), but I can't get this work smoothly. I get choppy movies, probably because of frames being dropped (the counter does not increment smoothly). The only smooth movie I get is the plain VCD whose quality is just not acceptable.

I tried MPEG1, MPEG2/singlemultiplexed, all sorts of resolution, all sorts of bandwidth. Burnt videos on imation-CD-R (@40x) and cyberdrive-CD-RW (both @16x and @4x).

I just don't know what else I should try . Can anyone help?
