hi,
my hi8 cam has the usual Comp. outputs which i use for capturing.
It also has a svideo socket.
Will I notice a difference if I use this with my capture card? Is it worth spending the few pounds on getting a cable... or is the composite giving me the same quality
I ask.. because the Hi8 is obviously not HQ video.. so is it actually worth doing?

My tv has no svideo plug for my hi-8 cam. My capture card does and I use the cable for making svcd. The svcd plays better than ir or direct plug in to the tv from the cam tape. Less black edge line and white edge line.
