hello, i dont have a clue about mac os (i have a pc) but i have a divx movie with AC3 sound and i'd like to send it to a friend, who has a mac but i'm not sure it'll play correctly, is there some ac3 codec available for macs?

I don't believe their is a codec. The quictime movie player will not decode AC-3 audio, but the movie player VideoLan Client will. However, I'm not sure if VideoLan will decode divx.
You can get vidoelan at http://www.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.4.4/macosx/vlc-0.4.4.dmg
Your friend will most likely have to run the video file through the app called Divx Validator first, then play it in VideoLan. You can get Divx Validator at divx.com. Divx Validator is what you need to make divx movies playable on macs. -
but with all those Apple comericals lately, you would think this would be so much easier!
