  1. Anyone know of ghost reduction filters for virtualdub or avisynth?

I found a link http://isweb42.infoseek.co.jp/computer/aetermv/virtuldub.shtml which seems to imply that at one point there was a ghost reduction virtualdub filter, but it does not seem to be available anymore

The ghost reduction filter in TMPGenc works really well, but I need to save the ghost reduction-ed result out to AVI again for processing in some other programs.

Unfortunately TMPGenc seems to have some bugs which causes it to error out while saving out large AVIs. (virtualdub has no such problems)

    You have 2 options.

    1) Save the tpr project file and use the vfapi converter to open the TMPGenc project in vdub ( video/fast recompress then file/save segmented ).

    2) find the exorcist filter ( get's rid of ghosts 8) )

  3. exorcist filter is really nothing compared to tmpgenc's excellent ghost removal filter...

i will try the tpr/vfapi path...

  4. well i tried it, it works for video though tmpgenc has two very serious bugs when using tpr and vfapi reader:

    1) it cuts out audio after a few thousand frames
    2) it runs about 3x past the length of the actual video, so you get a file 3x as large as the original with nothing but the last frame repeated at the end of the video

i had to use virtualdub to fix tmpgenc's screwups to re-import the audio and cut the file down to its original size.

what a pile of crap... at least i got my filter, but what a pain
