I have tried to backup two disney movies for my daughter-in-law before the kids ruin them. Anyway,I have use smartripper and clad. Smart ripper says authenication successful, but when ripping, it stops in the middle and says it needs to be redone or encrypted. And the other movie it ripped it, but the first part of the movie missing. On clad the voices were out of sync and it looked like parts of the movie showing up at one time. I did notice the codes were the same C000000001 on smart ripper. I am not very good at techinical terms, so excuse me if I said the wrong thing. It seems like to me they 're stopping us from making copies of our movies. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is anyone working on the problem?

i ripped snow white fine.....
did you play the movie in winDVD/powerDVD first?
what you can do is play the movie for a little bit and then pause it...then you can run smartripper on it.
also, make sure your DVD is spotless.....crap on the bottom can cause problems.. -
What do you mean in windvd first. I played it in my cinemaster dvd player first, if that is what you mean. I also tried to backup Tarzan and Jane too. It was the one with the first part of the movie missing and the voices messed up. Never had any problems like this before.
I will recleaned the dvd and will try again. Thanks!!! -
do u not have winDVD or powerDVD installed on your computer?
try getting any of these proggies...they are great software DVD players.
but anyways, play the movie on your software dvd player for a little bit and then pause it...
then, run smartripper and c if u can rip it -
ok, I used my scratch repair kit and it fixed it. I did get it ripped. I would like to know how to get windvd email me at rdbjab@fidnet.com.
I like smartripper the best. It produces the clearest pictures and don't have to worry about interlacing. I guess I thought the same thing was happening again with snow white since, they had the same codes. I Learn from my mistakes. I have done about 60 or more movies between the movies my son and I have. I am still puzzled about the other movie. thanks -
