  1. 1. Rip a dvd to files.

    2. Convert the vobs to avi's (mpeg2).

    3. Recompress the video to manageable file sizes.

    4. Create new vob's from the resized avi's.

    5. Replace the ripped vob's with the resized ones.

    6. Burn to dvd-r with full menu's extras etc.

    A tall order, maybe a pipe dream. But can it be done?

    It is possiblet to keep all the menu's and features and just transcode your movie to a smaller filesize. The methods used are not perfect and rmay reqiure alot of custom work depending on the particular dvd.
