  1. Hey

I was just wondering if there is any way to improve to quality of an existing .avi file? For example: I have an .avi file of a TV episode that is about 43 min long, but the file is only 100MB and quite bad quality, so is there anything I can do to improve the quality (of course would mean the file'd be bigger) WITHOUT making a VCD or SVCD? I want better quality but I wanna keep it as an .avi file cos they're generally smaller.

    Anyone?

    A.

  3. You can't really "add" quality to an avi or mpeg since the original encode has already "thrown away" picture information from the original source. However you could try a few filters in vdub to clean it up a bit.
Your statement about wanting to keep it avi because they're generally smaller - I assume you mean Divx avi - actually avi is just a container format, and depending on the codec (Divx, DV, Huffyuv, etc) avi can be MUCH larger than mpeg files.
