Is there a program that can allow me to change a 60 to 220 meg avi or mpg file size to a 15 to 60 meg vid file?

I heard that there is one program compresses the larger files into real video? rm?

I'm asking because for now my hard drive is under 10 gig

If the video is already compressed you shold fight the urge to make them smaller since you will loose signifigant quality by re-compression. What these people are refering to is probably Divx or othermpeg-4 based compression, but those will just screw up video and possibly make the file bigger if it's already compressed.

Basicly if your video is smaller than 10mb/minute already you have no hope of making it smaller. If it's bigger than 20mb/minute then yes, mpeg-4(divx) will help reduce the size.

    Cm'on with drives running 1$/GB it's a cheap investment.
