    Is TMPGenc to fastest program to use when converting avi to mpeg1? I'm new to this so is taking 6 hours to convert a 45 min. avi file normal? I have a Pentium II processor and 96mb of Ram. Anyways is there any other program that can convert faster?

    No, this TMPGenc is definitly not the fastest program!! But is you like good quality and lots of option for free then this is the best program. Those 6 hours for 45 min. is very normal.

    6 hour for 45 min??

    mine does on average 3-4 hours for "gone in 60 seconds"

    duh, it's processor & ram dependent those times. 1,5 hour movie is done within 4 hours on a P3-800/256mb
