DVD Movie Factory and LG DVD Players - incompatible ??

I'm experiencing a weird problem playing Ulead DVD Movie Factory authored DVDs on my LG3200E standalone player. Basically it takes a good minute or two before the player recognises the DVD and then the menu selection highlight becomes invisible, the page forward/backward buttons and the scene selection thumbnails do not highlight, but they do work if you guess where you have selected !!.

Those same DVDs play fine on my Pioneer DV343 and my mother's Cyberhome. I know it is not the media as back-ups of commercial DVDs and DVDs that I have authored in SpruceUp play fine with the same media. In fact I have recreated the same DVDs in SpruceUp as the Movie Factory ones that I'm having problems with and they work fine on the LG.

All my DVDs (commercial backups, SpruceUp and MF) are burned using Movie Factory image burning and my Pioneer A104.

By process of elimation I am now sure that there is some kind of incompatibility between Movie Factory and my LG player. I would be interested to here if anyone else has experienced anything similar.

Yep Same problem with my Hitachi DVD standalone.

There is a fix.. Uleads DVD WS 1.3 patch.. its not available on their website yet but do a search on this forum for it and you'll find a link.

darthbane2k, that patch you mentioned is for Workshop not MF and ULEAD Tech support as per usual denied it's existence !

I have logged this with ULEAD Tech Support. They claim that there have been no other reports of this type of compatibility with Movie Factory and a DVD player, they said it has occurred with Workshop but no reports of it with Movie Factory. I bet nothing gets done about it. If anyone out there is experiencing this problem with Movie Factory then please log it with ULEAD as they may actually do something about it if more people are experiencing it.

Anyway, I'm thinking of replacing my LG PLayer as it won't play -RWs nor (S)VCDs.
