  1. I have this divx 5 codec problem, at least i think i do, well i'm 99% sure that its divx5. Anyways here is the screenshot:

You can see all those crappy wierd colors during all the video, i'm sure its not video quality cause the size is fine.

  2. I forgot i have current codecs (just reinstalled all of 'em):
    Divx 3.11
    Divx 4.12
    Divx 5.02
    + i have PowerDVD
i wanted to download WMP9 but server is very busy and slow at the time.

I tried to play this file on PowerDVD and Win Movie Maker same problem.

  3. It looks and sounds like the video you downloaded was just encoded using a low bitrate, which will make a video encoded using ANY codec look like crap. Now, if every divx5 file you download looks like this, I would say you have a problem, but that's extremely unlikely.

I would suggest you find a DivX 5 movie encoded at a high bitrate (the tell-tale is that the movie will have a larger filesize for it's length) and see how that looks.

    Hope this helps,

    Prospero

EDIT: Oops, just saw your comment at the bottom of your first post explaining that the size is fine. Unfotunately, there is no way of knowing exactly what codec was used to CAPTURE the video. Alot of people will capture from the source in a codec like Huffyuv or MPEG1 or 2, then covert to DivX 5 in order to get a more acceptable filesize while maintaining as much quality as possible. Unfortunately, in this case it looks like there wasn't much quality in the original capture

  4. The file size of this file is fine its 156mb / 22min.
And i downloaded 3 files that video was just black but sound worked, then i installed Divx5 codec and it worked all 3 files have that crappy look.

    Other 2 files compressed even more 108mb / 40min & 145mb / 40min all working crappy so i assumed its codec problem.

Maybe there's some codec that might fix it? I'm still trying to get WMP9 maybe that will help.
