    Hi everyone!

I have some problems when playing some SVCDs in my standalone player. But only SVCDs which sourced by captures (TV and VHS)! The video plays a little bit tremble. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

Souds like you could have the wrong field order. In tmpgenc that's under settings/advanced.

And thank you from me; this post finally set a light off in my head and I tried "B" first on a 480 capture and it played correctly on the DVD player as a SVCD.
480 SVCD captures are very nice and work fine if in TMPGEnc "B" is chosen.
    Ahhhhhhh.

It's such a wonderful feeling the first itme you see a properly interlaced SVCD playing back. You then realize what you have been missing.

    Cheers

  6. I'm not sure if this is a similar problem, but I'd really like any suggestions. I've downloaded some svcd compliant mpgs - nero accepts them without needing to reconvert or anything. I put the burned disc in my JVC XV-S62 and the correct duration shows up on the player. I push play, and the picture is absolutely perfect - crystal clear.

However after about 2 seconds, I get a pause, then it starts again, and basically repeats this cycle. I get a pause of less than half a second every 2 seconds or so. Any thoughts?

What's the framerate of the source, is the source compliant? You might've chosen the wrong field order when you encoded the files. Try swithing your field order unless your positive that's not the problem.

  8. On the (S)VCD/Main screen of VCDEasy v1.1.2, I choose a VideoCD type of Svcd 1.0, then drag my .mpg onto the window. It scans, then shows up in the list with a size of 753.48 MB, Mpeg Information is:

    MPEG2, 2445.244s, 29.97003fps (NTSC), 480x480, Motion Video - Audio Standard

Your SVCD MPEG's might have errors or be corrupt.

  10. I know it's not the MPEG's because others have verified it working and I've tried multiple different MPEG's without success. Funny enough, JVC customer service mentions vcdhelp when I emailed them - here's their response (see below). It was just my fault for assuming that a DVD player that played VCDs would also play SVCDs when I bought it a year ago.

We would like to thank you for your recent e-mail inquiry to JVC.

We would ask that you go to page 13 in your manual where it lists the playable & non-playable discs. Their is no listing of S-VCD discs under the playable listing. You can try going to www.vcdhelp.com and checking their troubleshooting steps as we have heard that customers have been able to get their S-VCD discs to work.

If you require further assistance please contact the JVC Customer Relations department directly at 1-800-252-5722 or at 1-973-317-5000 and use the options 2, 4, 2. A live agent will be available to take your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need assistance with an operational issue, it is best to have access to your JVC system while speaking to our support group. They will be glad to assist you.

We hope this information is helpful.

    Sincerely,
    JVC National Customer Relations
