  1. Is there a way to remove text (commercials or financial rates) that scrolls across the top or bottom of the screen? What filetype do you need to have in order to achieve such editing ?

I guess you could use a filter in Vdub, I used it to remove a logo. Best you could do is cover it with a transparency, or black if its in the black border.

  4. Unfortunately, it's not in the black. It scrolls right over the picture... Any other way anyone ?

  5. I think that's going to be tough but you can do it in Virtual Dub. If the text was static you could use logo away and it would be easier, but since it moves you going to have to change the X/Y position of the blur in each frame that it moves in order to cover it up. That's going to be a pain in the ass.

  6. No you didn't get it right Gambit.

It's not actually a logo that moves across the picture. It's a text which means it comes scrolling into the poicture, scrolls across the picture for 10 sec -it's a BIG f***ing text- and then scrolls out. Like when you see the prices of the stock market scrolling across the screen !!!

Is there a way to remove that ?

Is it there all through the movie ?, if its just a few frames you could delete them. Other than that, the only way would be to edit each frame... days, weeks, months ....Years

  8. Not through the whole movie. It scrolls for 10 sec, stops, and then scrolls again after 2-3 min for another 10 sec e.t.c.

    Hi

Well the text is now part of the movie, if you were to load a picture in for editing and place some text on it, think how hard it would be to remove that text without leaving behind something. I use Paint Shop Pro to touch up pictures with problems.

Each frame is 1 single picture, so you can imagine what you may need to do to each frame. If the message was in one place then you could at leased put something over the top to hide it (Mask) but scrolling text means you will need to edit each frame, and removing text without messing up the picture would be hard work.

The only way I can think of is to delete the 10 seconds of frames each time it comes on, this might mess-up the movie completely.

Unlike DVD's where the message might be a separate movie like on screen subtitles in different languages, this movie is 1 stream.

The "Logo Away" filter could be used, even though you refer to this problem as scrolling text it is in fact now part of the movie and so its a picture, so Logo Away in Vdub could be applied to a section of the frame, then again and again until its gone. But it will be very hard work.

What about putting a bar right across the picture when the message comes on, well blocking out the picture in that location might be less annoying than scrolling text. Again "Logo Away" can do this in Vdub
