    What program can I use to convert a 17G DV .avi file that came off my digital video camera to a smaller file that can be viewed with Windows Media Player.... and fit on an 80 min CD?? What file type do I need to convert it to?
    It's only a little over 1 hour of video.

    You should convert it to an mpeg1. You can usually fit up to 80min on 1 cd-r. I like Tmpegnc. which you can find in the tools section of this website.
