Unlocking the DVD

I am having problems when trying to unlock the DVD with the player to prepare for Smart Ripper.

Some DVD's have their own installer or they just won't run in WinDVD (don't know why) ?

Is their another ripper that unlock sthe DVD for you or is there another way to unlock it ??

THe thing that trys to install is usally extra stuff thats for the computer..just cancel out of that..

I have never been able to get WinDVD to unlock a dvd....Others swear by it I'm sure....But I use PowerDVD...It has never failed...start PowerDVD and watch part of the movie...minute or so...then I hit pause and open the ripper...when it has full access I close PowerDVD. Then finish rip.
