  1. o.k now that I have a MPEG video, I want to put it onto cdr so that I may play it on a regular DVD player. Does anyone know how to do that? Do I just copy the files to the disc or must I put it into specific folders, or must i convert it to something else??

  2. What Copying Software are you using. Whichever it is, select Video CD and drog and drop the Mpeg to copy. It does something so it will play in your DVD player and thats it.

  3. Where can I find that Option in either Nero or HP Record Now?

  4. In Nero use the Wizard. Select compile a New CD, Then Other Formats, Then Video CD. Then Drap and Drop the File To burn.

Having an MPEG is one thing. Playing it on your DVD is another. First make sure your DVD player can play CD-R(W)s. Not VCDs, CD-Rs.

Next, you need to format your MPEG file to be burned properly. Some use TMPGEnc, others use NERO. I tried NERO, and I find it problematic, others swear by it.

Next, you author, or burn your MPEG file to your disk. Some programs can do the last two steps at once.

But remember, all this is academic if your DVD cannot play CD-Rs. So check that first.

  6. I thought all Mpeg Files were Video Standard. I thought TMPGenc was used just for converting AVI files to Mpegs.

  7. Wrong - not all MPEGs are Video CD or any other standard - they can have different sizes, encoding, etc. etc. etc.

Look on this site under VCD and SVCD - they use MPEGs with very specific standards. There is a little leeway in SVCD. Anything else and it might or won't play on a VCD/SVCD capabile DVD player. Some DVD players are somewhat forgiving like some APEX models. SOme will play DVD only. Look under the players list for what yours may do.
