  1. When I try to load my (previously captured, or saved in Premiere) AVI's in VirtualDub, it refuses with the message:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DVSD' (unknown). VirtualDub requieres a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

So what do I do, install some codecs, or convert the AVI's to some other codec? I could do this with Premiere, but frame by frame, sloooooow!

Also, does using a VFW codec mean that I have a 2GB file size limit? My AVI's are > 4GB.

Before you do anything, locate a small free program called Canopus DV File Converter. This converts losslessy between various DV formats. One will almost certainly load into Virtualdub. 8)
