  1. Hello all.
I do not have very good know-how on this subject, thus I ask for some help from you guys.

I want to compile VOBs from my DVDs into MPG I or II, and make playable on a home threather DVD player. The problem is, soon, I will buy a widescreen TV 16:9 ratio, and i am wondering if the movie that I compiled with standard VCD or SVCD format will show on the TV properly.

I am not so sure if the image will take up a whole TV screen; meaning the image will be scale down to some ratio and the rest is some black empty screen.

Can some one please kind enough to explain me how i should compile VOBs so that I would not need to worry about this issue?

  2. Compile?, does that mean you use tmpgenc?

If the DVD is in Widescreen it's pretty simple.

Just select 16:9 source of the first screen
on the second screen select 16:9 and aspect: full screen.

    In DVD2SVCD, just select 4:3 to 4:3
(that will be same result as 16:9 to 16:9)
