TmpEnc 12i : Can't Start

I'm having trouble starting my TmpEnc ever since I installed Norton Systemworks 2001 on my secondary computer. However, there are a few points to note:

1)I have two computers networked together and the main computer which already has NS 2001 installed seems to agree with TmpEnc 12i(see 3 below).

2)TmpEnc 12i used to work before I installed NS 2001.

3)On both computers, I occasionally have to "execute TmpEnc a few times" before the program window appears-by which time I have a few copies of TmpEnc also running in the background(and some copies are reportedly not responding). Why is this so?

Can anyone help me out because I would like to be able to run TmpEnc on both computers so that I can multitask and make full use of the computers. Thanks!

This may or may not be helpful. I had similar problem with Virtual Dub. Program would open slow as molasses. I'm on a network and logging off helped me. Norton's though does have a tendency to mess stuff up.
