I just got home with a brand new Philips DVD-723. I've downloaded the firmware version from http://philips.ianc.net and also I got the region free hack from the same site. When I inserted the CD-R with the firmware upgrade the player says "DISC ERROR" and spits out the CD?

Also I tried pressing the Open/Close button on the player and when the display says "NO DISC" I press PLAY on the remote followed by buttons 1,5,9. The empty lines appear in the display and I enter the code and press PLAY again but nothing happens.

Please help!! Did I get a version of the DVD-723 with a PROM or what???
