  1. I have a lot of DiVX films on my PC but decided to try to burn one to VCD to play on my standalone DVD. I used Nero 5.5 to encode and write the disc. The quality was fine, however while all my films are widescreen Nero squashed the whole damn thing into 4.3. i can't see any options for altering the aspect ratio. Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks

There's probably a setting on your TV to alter the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 and then your film will look fine. Doing it this way round has the advantage that there are more scan lines making up the picture, and the quality may be better.
