  1. I have converted a AVI file using framserving with vitualdub to add subtitles. Then I converted the file using the newwest TMPGENC using "Full screen - keep aspect ratio". The result was a beautiful file with subtitles which I burned to a SVCD using VideoPack from Roxio to Add Chapters and a Menu.

The only problem I have right now is that when I play it on my television using my Samsung DVD-811 player, that about 1 or 2 cm of the movie is played outside the TV-screen? I used PAL as format which is standard format as far as I know in the Netherlands.

Can Somebody help me with this? I searched a little but found no info on this.

All tvs has some overscan, you could add black borders in tmpgenc to get the entire picture

and search for overscan for more info

  3. OKE, I read the info on overscan...now heres my next question.

    I have a AVI file: 640x272

And I want to make it a SVCD file: 480x576, BUT

I want to make sure I dont loose any through overscan...

NOW what are my settings for TMPGENC?

is it center, custom? if so, then how do i calculate the numbers for the custom size (maintaining the aspect ratio.)?
