i wanna make a video track on svcd n include a second audio option.

    how do i do it

  2. Extract your second soundtrack off your DVD.

    For example:
    - extract the AC3 track and convert it with azid
    - or use another AC3 decoder and convert to WAV first and then encode to MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio with your favorite MP2 encoder (e.g., toolame).

Once you have your second MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio track, you can create your MPEG-2 file by multiplexing the video and the two audio tracks together. This can be done with bbMPEG or the I-Author muxer.

There are some good guides at http://www.doom9.net

just for record, i don't make dvd backups. can't.

i use vcd for achiving vhs tapes and home movies.

so i can use tmpg to encode the video and the audio, then de-multiplex, then encode the second track, then multiplex the 3.

does it matter if the two audio tracks are not the same length.

Where are you getting the extra audio track then?

    Yes.

Yes. The two tracks will probably have to be the same length.

  5. How could i do 2 audio tracks for VCD and not svcd? I have a japanese and a chinese track that i want to have on my vcd. And will nero give me hassles when i burn it?

  6. Ok, the best way is to use TMPGenc or CCE to only encode the video (MPV). Extract and convert both audio tracks to MPA or MP2 (tooLame) files. Then load everything in bbMPEG (I-author is next to impossible to find these days), and mux everything together.
Ok, now nero won't be happy trying to burn that, so use VCDImager/VCDImager GUI to make an image on the MPEG file and burn it instead.

When you play the x(S)VCD on your stand alone it'll play the first audio track by default, and hitting audio on the remote/player will switch to the next track.

Also remember that the 2nd track takes up data on the CDR. So choose a bitrate for the video that will allow it. If you can find I-author and make SVCDs you can even make up to 4 selectable subtitle tracks (in theory).

fyi, for VCD2.0 you can have only have a dual-channel stereo audio stream... which means that you'll use the right channel for one language and the left channel for the other language...
