  1. Ok, I want to rip a few DVDs, preferably to DivX. I don't have any plans of making them VCD/SVCD or anything. What's the best program(s) to use as far as quality and such? I have a 128MB video card and 19" monitor. I want these to look good. LOL

I may also need a way to limit the CPU usuage of the encoder because the last time I tried to encode something, my cpu got rather hot (almost to the forced shut off temp). ...and this computer has 5 fans!

P.S. is it possible to make a 16:9 movie fullscreen/4:3 when you encode it? I have a DVD burner and I'd really like a fullscreen version of Terminator 2 Special Edition. The VHS one doesn't have as many added scenes as the DVD.

  2. Well, I tried that on Leprechaun and the quality looks like the Jason X screener a friend sent me.... kinda like a wet picture. ya know? Plus, Windows Media Player doesn't seem to like that codec. I had to use POwerDVD to watch it. That's not a huge problem, but I like more compatability. lol
