  1. I'm attempting to follow the SVXD TO DVD2SVCD user guide. However as soon as I get to section 2, and open up the file under the MISC tab, I get a message saying "The TMPGEnc file does not exist".
What gives? TMPGEnc was not mentioned at all.
    Help,

DVD2SVCD can use either TMPGenc or Cinema Craft Encoder (CCE) to encode files to MPEG, but you need to tell it which one to use and where it is, even though you haven't got to the encoding step yet.

Go to the 'Encoder' tab and select the TMPGEnc radio button then in the first field that's labelled 'TMPGEnc x.xx' enter the full path and filename where the program TMPGEnc.exe can be found. This should eliminate the message.

Of course if you haven't installed TMPGEnc you must do this first.
(If you choose to use CCE instead then just follow the same instructions but selecting CCE instead)

  3. Cheers bunyip - thats sorted the problem.
If I could try your patience a little bit more.
I've got things working ok, but when I play the dvd I get a cinemacraft encoder label displayed on the screen - is there anyway of getting rid of this?
I appreciate that its probably been burned onto the cd, but for next time, is there a way of not having this on?

If I'd used TMPGenc instead, does it do a similar thing.
    Thanks again,
    Bongo

What you have is the trial version of CCE, which has the logo permanently installed, the only way to get rid of it is to purchase a registered version (unfortunately very expensive).

TMPGEnc does not have a logo and will give you a clear encode, however the MPEG2 encoder will expire after 30 days and you will need to purchase a copy to use it permanently (but that is reasonably priced). The MPEG1 encoder in TMPGenc is free.
