  2. Have you tried re-encoding with CCE? I have found that this works excellent. I was able to do Lord of the Rings without any noticable change in video quality.

  3. Yes it is possible. (with a bit of effort) You did not say what tools you used or the process you followed to "rip" the DVD. So tell us the steps you followed.

use ifoedit and you get to keep the dvd picture quality and dolby digital 5.1 without re-encoding.

    Easy way:

Rip the DVD with CLAD (with the dvd2avi frameserving option turned on).
Run TMPEGenc and vary your output to match the DVD-R capacity.
Run the resulting MPEG through SpruceUp and burn with PrimoDVD, or Gear Pro DVD, or whatever you use...

    Burnt fine for me...

  6. Sorry for not replying to all of your advice, had some real family problems, like my 13 year old daughter attempted to commit suicide. So ripping video got pushed to the side.

But thanks for all the excellent advice, when things have setteled down I will let you know how2 I have gotten on, feel sure that with the advice given I should have no more problems.

Once again thanks for all the help.

  7. Hey Tilcat youre in luck..Ive just ripped Shrek to fit onto one DVD. Lets see if I can remember how I did this.

I removed the big Video_ts.vob (and Ifo and Bup) files. This was just a clip of Shrek coming out of his shack. I replaced these with files from another film that were only a few K big

If you open the DVD up in smartripper or DVD decrpyter you will see that there are 3 audio tracks, DOLBY DIGITAL, DTS and Audio commentary. I removed the DD and commentary and the resulting files were small enough to fit onto 1 DVD-R. If you havnt got a DTS decoder u may like to remove the DTS audio track (it takes up a lot of space !)

  8. Hey Guys
I want to do the same.
I have tried to edit with ifoedit and taking out the first chapters(The part where he reads the book) and last chapters(credits) and leaving only 1 audio file the 6.1 surround. It is still too big by about 300 mgs. I ripped it with dvddecrypter.

Please help..... I really want this movie without any loss of quality.

    Juanman:
    Read my reply above.

Fits on 1 DVD-R and is as good as any of my other recordings. The end.
