I saw a set of Imation CD labelling markers at COmpUSA, and I am wondering if anyone has used them or any other markers for labelling or writing on their CDs? Wouldn't the heat from the drive cause the ink to get within the drive?

Sharpeis or other permenenet felt tip marker is all you need to write on cd-r and cd-rw's. No you don't get the ink inside the drive.

Another Sharpie user here.I wouldn't put any label on due to curling
or inbalance while playing -
I also used Sharpies and the TDK CD markers. You don't need any special marker to write on CDs and permanent marker should do. The only thing is make sure the marker is water base instead of oil base, and that the tip of the marker isn't too hard so you don't accidentally scratch the CD while writing.

Sharpies are not water based, though I sometimes use them and have had no problems. Dixon makes a water based marker.
