How to Join .mp2 audio streams ?

Scenario :

I have Captured a 4 Part TV Program and encoded each part to DVD Format using TMPG. I then demuxed each file using TMPG to allow me to import them into DVD Maestro to author to a DVD-R. In DVD Maestro, you can add lots of .m2v to a movie, but only one audio stream to a movie.

I need to be able to merge all of the .mp2 audio streams to be able to import into DVD Maestro.

How can i merge the 4 .mp2 audio streams into one ?

I have tried TMPG`s Mgeg tools but it does not give the option to merge MPEG2 CBR audio streams ( Only gives MPEG2 Program VBR, or, MPEG2 Super Video CD VBR )

Is there a program to merge .mp2 Audio streams ?

You can add them with TMPG's mpeg tools. Use Merge and Cut>Type=MPEG-2 Super VideoCD(VBR). You will need to display all files to select them. Add them as you would combine any mpegs. Your result will be of the form .mpg. Run a simple demultiplex on this, and you will have your combined .mp2.

you can add as many as you want audio streams to Maestro .. Do NOT join them together out side of Maestro or more in likly you will not have sync ...

1. add video streams to assets and add to movie line all the video only streams.

2. right click on audio portion of movie line and select create sync audio track .

3. you will be presented with a menu of all your added video tracks .. double click on each track and select matching audio (it does not have to be in your assets or in same dir as video or matching names) ..

4. select -> create audio track.


a new audio track will be added to your assests , placed for you on your movie line and be in sync as the new global track sync each audio and "fills in " or cuts so that each audio is same lenth as video .
if you were doing this with AC3 files - they would even be more in sync if you embedded a timecode intto the audio / video ...

Does this work with .mp2 files as requested?

I get an "error saying audio type not supported for sync audio"..

do as i said but convert mp2 files to ac3 .. mpeg audio is not compliant dvd audio anyway for region 1 .
